6 original Christmas markets to discover nearby

Christmas markets are coming to BX: an event we all look forward to. But you don’t necessarily have to go to the centre to experience the festive atmosphere: beside Winter Wonders, there are also little X-mas villages near you! Here’s where you can enjoy a good crêpe or raclette while admiring the light displays. And why not find an original gift to please your nearest and dearest

The Fais-le toi-même Creative and Sustainable Christmas Boom is on from 1 to 3 December! And it’s taking place at L’Extension. On the programme: a market of craftspeople and designers, sustainable gift ideas and a wide range of drinks.

The little extra? This year’s experience is rounded off by a brand new Christmas Tour, in a collaborative spirit. The tour runs over 4 weekends until 23 December. So you’ve got plenty of time to enjoy it!

Living near La Chasse? Don’t miss the Christmas craft market at KOM à la maison. It’s on Sunday 3 December, from 1pm to 6pm. A great opportunity to meet new people over a glass of mulled wine.

The little extra? You’ll be supporting a solidarity concept based on sharing, where everyone pays a free contribution according to their means.

On the weekend of 2 and 3 December, the Musée du Tram will be holding its second Christmas market. As well as local craftspeople and children’s entertainment, don’t miss the famous Tram-O-Bar, which puts the cougnou in the spotlight!

The little extra? Don’t miss the ride on an old tram or bus: a unique experience!

Looking for a whole different vibe? Go to the Christmas market at L’Os à Moëlle. You’ll find craftspeople and exhibitors indoors and outdoors from 15 to 17 December. New this year is the opening of a temporary delicatessen.

The little extra? You’ll get the chance to discover Brussels’ oldest working cabaret!

On 16 December, make way for the quirky atmosphere of the Flacon de Noël at the Atelier Ad Hoc. The only market where you can find ethical craftspeople, live music and a competition for the ugliest Christmas jumper in one place.

The little extra? It’s also Brussels’ latest Christmas market, where you can stay until 11pm!

Back to Saint-Gilles

Looking for a trendy Christmas market? L’hiver des Glacières is the place for you! On the programme: DJs and foodtrucks in a cosy atmosphere. Join us at Les Glacières de Saint-Gilles on the weekend of 16 and 17 December.

The little extra? The new afterwork evening on 14 December, so you can start enjoying yourself as early as Thursday evening!

For a hassle-free Christmas market tour, check out the shared options in Floya! Just enter the name of the place in the search bar to find the best route.

And for the return trip? Think walking, public transport or taxi. So you can get home safely even after a few mulled wine glasses. And it’s easy too, because all your Brussels transport options are in one app.
